Do you have a beautiful AGA but are not too sure how to get the most out of it?
I have lived in Kent, the Isle of Man, Vancouver Island and the Caribbean and returned to the Isle of Man 13 years ago and have always had an AGA or a Rayburn in the house with the exception of the Caribbean, obviously! In Kent it was a solid fuel, pale blue one, first cottage in the Isle of Man a brown, solid fuel Rayburn, soon to be replaced with a gas one due to high winds and the ash problem...., Vancouver Island, a red gas AGA which was a beautiful addition in the great Western cedar log house and now a stunning royal blue, oil AGA in the 1775 cottage in the Isle of Man. Having an AGA is a way of life - you either love them or hate them and I ADORE them, although you should not love or adore anything that cannot love you back!
I returned from AGA Headquarters in March 2014 having become a certified AGA demonstrator and I am offering a 3.5hr AGA cooking experience which usually commences from 1.00pm finishing at 4.00pm. Typical session would be as follows:
Cost: £80 per person - maximum class of ten
I also conduct home visits to those with AGAs who would like some personal instruction. Visits are around 2hrs. I will explain how all the different ovens and plates work, how to retain heat, cook key foods, which trays and racks are worth investing in, how to keep the AGA clean and running efficiently. However, there's nothing like getting together with other AGA lovers at Vivaldi Catering for a really fun time! See below.....
Feedback from those attending AGA demonstrations:
"Thank you Georgie, we can't stop talking about how lovely yesterday was."
"I learnt so much from that course, it's amazing how much you can cook on an AGA in a short space of time."
"That's it, I'm sold....just got to decide what colour to have!"
