We are now in The Cook Shack, a bespoke Cookery school, nestled in the garden of our cottage with views to Scotland and Cumbria, a building which has been made with love and waney cedar with a metal roof is truly beautiful. The courses are varied, e.g. Sensational Sushi, Fragrant Thai, Canapes & Petit Fours, Healthy Indian Cuisine, French Bistro cooking just to name a few and can be tailor made to suit the group. Some courses can finish with a gourmet meal or hot stone cooking and raclette made with the finest locally sourced ingredients or alternatively a cuppa, cake and a chat or some tapas. What ever course you choose, the atmostphere is relaxed and friendly. You will learn a little, eat a lot but most of all have fun with others and hopefully make new friends. Classes are usually limited to eight people to ensure individual assistance.
DIRECTIONS: From the Bride roundabout, keep left on the A10 Coast Road towards Jurby. Half a mile from the church on the right is a farm lane. There is usually a brown bin at the top of the lane. Turn right down that lane and the first cottage on the left is Glentruan Cottage and the glorious Cook Shack in at the end of the drive. Come on in and have some fun! If you reach the famous Glentruan Golf Course on the main road, you have gone too far and you will have gone past the Cook Shack with it's waney cedar and steel roof. Bring your phone. You can always call Georgie on 485999 if lost.
